The Sidgwick Prize 2025 ceremony took place on 20 September 2025.

 

The winner of the Sidgwick Prize for 2025 was Tom Moesel, who submitted an essay in the Theology category.

 

The other category Prize winners for 2025 were:

• Psychology: AGNES JOSEFSSON (American School of Warsaw, Poland): prize-winning essay.

• Politics: CARRIE YANG (Mercersburg Academy, United States): prize-winning essay.

• Philosophy: DANIEL ZHANG (The Hotchkiss School, United States): prize-winning essay.

• History: ZELHAM SHI (BASIS International School, Nanjing, China): prize-winning essay.

• Theology: TOM MOESEL (Sherborne School, England): prize-winning essay.

• Art History: BEATRIX MEEWEZEN (Cranbrook School, England): prize-winning essay.

 

​In 2025, more than 300 students paid a registration fee to participate in the prize; approximately 10% of participants were shortlisted. Essays were submitted by students from Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam. 

 

The Judges for the 2025 essay prize were Dr Felix Waldmann (Cambridge), Dr Samuel Zeitlin (UCL), Dr Paul Bhandari (Cambridge), and Dr Dhruva Bhat (Rhodes Scholar).
